My son has Down syndrome and began working with Evelina when he was around 19 months old, still unable to walk. We had gone through numerous PTs and OTs, and we're not getting good results. Within a couple of sessions Evalina saw that his inability to walk was due to a problem with his vestibular system, as he wasn't receiving enough input. She gave us easy and fun exercises to do at home and she began implementing vestibular input exercises during his twice weekly sessions. Within a few weeks my son was walking. He began walking at 20 months, and for a child with Down syndrome that is considered early. Evelina's sessions were always fun and seemed like play for my son, of all the therapies he had to go to this was by far his favorite.
